Tui Na is a type of bodywork therapy which has been used in China for over 2,000 years. Tui Na utilizes traditional Chinese medical theory through the application of massage and manipulation techniques which promote a more harmonious flow of Qi through the meridians, allowing the body to naturally heal itself.
Tui Na involves the use of various hand techniques to massage the soft tissue of the body and the stimulation of acupressure points to directly affect the flow of Qi. External herbal poultices, compresses, liniments, and salves may also used in conjunction with the techniques. This bodywork can be used to treat not only musculo-skeletal symptoms, but also symptoms of the common cold, digestive disorders, and PMS.
